First Year

During the first year, you will confront the expanded role of design and critically explore strategies, convergences, and fields of action. The central theme of the designer as an enabler will guide you in studying new methods, contexts, and tools and their relationship to producing thoughtful, synergistic interventions.

Theoretical subjects include art history and contemporary design. Workshops and labs focus on human and environmental issues through the exploration of new tools and relationships, strategies, material research, and physical experimentation.

Second Year

During the second year of the program, you will apply your knowledge of innovation and complex relationships, tools, and techniques, while expanding your knowledge with a long-term (visions) and medium-term (society) perspective. You are expected to define and substantiate your design proposals with a solid theoretical foundation in order to deliver professional projects.

You will participate in several workshops and labs, ranging from Systemic Design and Design Futures to Creative Direction and Tangible Interaction, and you will take part in an intensive bootcamp. The second year also includes a 12-credit thesis project. Among the elective activities in the second year, students may choose to undertake a professional internship.
