Fashion Design

This one-year academic master’s program offers an alternative perspective on fashion design. It examines the fashion system as a whole and its challenges while exploring new possibilities in design, product development, and visual storytelling.

Through dialogue with industry professionals, students explore different forms of expression and communication and are encouraged to adopt new perspectives and experimental approaches. After examining traditional methods in theory and practice, they develop more contemporary and considered ways of working.

Focus

  • The fashion system as a whole: map the full value chain and analyze fashion from technical, historical, and semiotic perspectives.
  • New methods in fashion design: explore alternative design approaches through the interplay of storytelling and distinctiveness, tradition and deconstruction.
  • Visual communication and contemporary culture: interpret forms of expression in communication and visual culture, with an emphasis on visual narratives in photography, fashion, and art.

Career opportunities: fashion designer, art director, product developer, brand specialist, communications manager, graphic designer, merchandise planner, or fashion curator.
