During the programme, students work with groundbreaking digital technologies for virtual production, including real-time VFX, character design, and animation with motion capture. The bachelor’s programme is characterised by a strong connection to design work and workshops where students delve into today’s multimedia and digital productions. Great attention is devoted to VR, MX, and experiments with virtual design.

NABA’s one-year programme is aimed at international students who wish to study Game Design and Creative Technologies at NABA’s campus in Milan, alongside students from around the world. You study the first year of the bachelor’s programme and, upon completing the courses, receive a certificate from NABA. You can also choose to continue your studies.

Specialisations

Game Design

Choosing to study Game Design as a specialisation, the programme aims to train game designers and technical artists who can manage all phases useful and necessary for developing a video game, by learning the key tools for creating stories, environments, and characters, and developing interactive and playable prototypes.

Great attention is devoted to analysing the main game engines used in the video game industry, as well as the latest techniques in virtual reality (VR) and virtual production, to be best prepared to meet the needs of the ever-growing number of digital entertainment sectors.

3D and VFX

The VFX and 3D specialisation aims to train VFX and 3D artists who can manage all useful and necessary steps in the development of visual elements for film, events, and games.

Students have the opportunity to learn the key techniques for live-action filming on green screen and LED walls, creating and managing 3D characters and environments, classical keyframe animation, advanced animation using motion capture systems for body and face, use of off-line rendering, as well as the most modern techniques for real-time virtual production.
