MITF is a program with high academic standards and provides a thorough introduction to practical aspects of trade and investment promotion, corporate governance, and international negotiations, combined with technical expertise in risk management, financial accounting, and project management.

The program also offers an understanding of global economics, corporate finance, and provides insight into the latest developments in FinTech and digital transformation. Students also make study visits to leading international trade and finance organizations in Switzerland.

The program is offered in Geneva, Switzerland. The school offers assistance with finding accommodation and has a modern campus with a library, café, and restaurant. There are also ample opportunities for sports and other leisure activities. The program is also CSN-eligible. The master’s programs at IIG are offered in the evening, which gives you the opportunity to work part-time to finance your studies.

Students have the opportunity to pursue a dual degree by applying to a master’s program at Boston University, which can be completed in a shorter time after they finish their degree at the International Institute in Geneva (IIG). To meet the graduation requirements at Boston University, a minimum of eight compulsory courses are required.

Program Content

In addition to core courses in international trade — with a focus on world trade, international finance, trade law, and policy — the program prepares young professionals for decision-making roles through courses in logistics, project management, global economics, risk management, and change management. The Master in International Trade and Finance is completed over one year.
