The program builds on prior academic and professional experience, developing advanced skills in both Hospitality Business Management and Luxury Brand Management.

The program is designed for ambitious professionals seeking leadership positions within the luxury segment. Over the course of one year, students deepen their knowledge in strategic leadership, premium brand positioning, and world-class service — across the hospitality, fashion, and lifestyle sectors. Through real-world projects, case studies, and practical application, students are prepared for senior roles within international luxury brands. Strategic partnerships and guaranteed internships with leading luxury companies provide valuable industry exposure and a strong professional network.

The program is offered in Caux, located near Montreux, Switzerland. Accommodation, meals, and health insurance are included in the fee during your time at the school, as well as an international internship. All instruction is in English. The program can be financed with Swedish student loans (CSN).

Master's in Hospitality and Luxury Brand Management 2

The program is offered in partnership with the University of Derby and combines theory and practice. Students develop core competencies in hotel operations, finance, marketing, and leadership; in-depth knowledge of luxury brand strategy, consumer behavior, and experience design; as well as analytical and research skills through a research or consulting project linked to a real-world industry challenge.

Program Structure

  1. Standard Track — 36 weeks on campus
    1. Semester 1 (Caux, 30 ECTS): Foundational courses in hospitality business management — Strategic Financial and Revenue Management, Marketing Management, and Leadership and Talent Management (10 ECTS each).
    2. Semester 2 (Caux, 30 ECTS): Specialization in Luxury Brand Management — Strategic Luxury Brand Management (10 ECTS), The Modern Luxury Consumer (10 ECTS), Luxury Value Creation (5 ECTS), and Consumer Experience Design (5 ECTS).
    3. Semester 3 (off-campus, 30 ECTS): Independent work where advanced research and analytical skills are applied to a major project linked to career goals, with support in research methodology and academic writing. An optional international internship may be added, with personalized guidance from SHMS.
  2. Fast Track — 18 weeks on campus
    1. All courses (60 ECTS) are taken during one intensive semester, followed by independent work and an optional internship (30 ECTS).

Degree

Master of Arts in International Hospitality Business Management: Luxury Brand Management. The degree is accredited by the University of Derby.

Career Opportunities

The program prepares students for leadership roles in luxury hotels, resorts, and global luxury brands, for example as Retail Luxury Manager, Luxury Hotel Manager, Product or Marketing Manager, and Purchasing or Merchandising Manager within the luxury retail sector. Admission and Eligibility

Entry requirements: minimum age of 21 and a Postgraduate Diploma from SHMS with internship, alternatively a recognized bachelor’s degree (minimum 2.2 Hons) in any subject or five years of work experience at a management level in the hospitality industry, supplemented by an admission interview. English requirements: IELTS academic 6.0, TOEFL iBT 60, or equivalent.
