Curriculum

The master’s program’s curriculum reflects the lifecycle of a start-up: from identifying business models and market strategies to growth and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). Key topics: strategy and governance, leadership and team development, digital marketing.

  1. Hospitality Introduction Program — optional 4-week program
    1. If you do not have an academic or professional background in hospitality, this fast-track introduction program can provide you with the foundational knowledge needed to arrive well-prepared for your master’s studies.
    2. Duration: 4 weeks — optional
  2. Semester 1 — Fundamentals of Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Leadership
    1. Here you will learn what the hospitality industry is, its challenges, and future development. You will gain tools, methods, and concepts for creating value-adding and innovative products and services with a particular focus on hospitality.
    2. The focus is on the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in the industry’s emerging trends. You will work with design thinking, lean startups, traction methods, strategic partnerships, ecosystem management, governance, and strategy.
  3. Semester 2 — Launching and Scaling Future-Proof Businesses
    1. This block focuses on creating value for customers, charging for that value, and scaling the business. You will delve into digitalization, go-to-market strategies, sales and marketing, revenue management, and digital technologies. Additionally, it includes an in-depth study of corporate finance, capital raising, and financial lifecycles.
  4. Semester 3 — Business Research Project or Internship with Applied Research Report
    1. If you choose the Business Research Project, you will conduct an independent research project demonstrating advanced research skills, planning ability, independence, and information management.
    2. If you choose the internship, you will complete a 24-week work placement and then write an Applied Research Report analyzing your experiences and strengthening your professional development.

Study Trip to Marrakech

All full-time programs at the master’s level include an in-depth study trip, with unique access to key players in the relevant industry.

The trips are tailored, multi-day experiences packed with itineraries that include company visits, presentations by senior executives, as well as lunches and dinners where you can experience local gastronomy while getting to know your fellow students in a more relaxed setting.
